The Board of Governors of the University of Haifa will reside for its 37th annual meeting between June 2nd and June 4th 2009 and will be participated by Governors, friends and donors from Israel and abroad.

During the first day of the meeting, June 2nd, the University will inaugurate the Edmond J. Safra Brain Research Center for the Study of Learning Disabilities that will enable innovative diagnosis and treatment for the learning disabled.
During the evening of that same day the University will celebrate the opening ceremony, during which the University will award Doctors of Philosophy, Honoris Causa, to five special people for contribution to society and academic research.

On the second day of the meeting, June 3rd, the University will celebrate the Inauguration of the Dr. Moses Strauss Department of Marine Geosciences that is part of the Leon H. Charney School of Marine Sciences. The evening event will be dedicated to Academic Excellency on the subject of: Higher education as an academic motor growth. This event will be attended by Dr. Yuval Steinitz, Finance Minister, who will give a lecture.

Likewise, during the meeting there will be conferences and exhibitions that will enable the members to closely see the various academic and research activities that are going on at the University.

Due to security and control reasons, entrance to the events and discussion will be given only to guests with badges. As in recent years, the badges will be distributed during the first day of the meeting.
